My accountant is retiring and I am going to try to use his tax software on my 2018 MacBook Pro. It's window based. I can use Parallels with Windows or can I use an open source software program such as Libre to run this tax software on my Mac? If I can use Libre, is if fairly easy and intuitive to use?

You can install Windows using a virtual machine like Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox. You can also install Windows using Boot Camp Assistant. I don't know what Libre is or how you would install Windows using it.

Thanks for the response Bob. I'm going to use the Boot Camp Assistant and install Windows on the PC side of my Mac. Seems like a contradiction, but grateful that the PC function is available.
