I cannot listen to any audio, including phone calls. It works on loudspeaker, Bluetooth, or with headphones.
if I adjust the volume it pops up with ‘headphones’. I’ve tried cleaning out the headphone port and still no joy

If cleaning the port doesn't help, try to restore your iPhone.
If still no luck, then it's a hardware issue. Bring it to a Genius Bar or an Authorized Service Provider.
When that happens, tap on the speaker icon, select iPhone and then it should work. If it doesn't take your phone to Apple because your headphone jack might be damaged.
