iPad Air split screen

So... I have the first iPad Air A1475 ios12, can do multi task switch screen.... can I go back to the older iOS where it was capable? It’s really irritating I upgrade and features are taken away

You can’t use split screen on iPad Air and never could. You could only use slide over.

To use slide over in the new update:

  1. Open an app.
  2. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Dock.
  3. On the Dock, touch and hold the second app that you want to open, then drag it to the screen.


Only iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, all iPad Pros, and iPad 5th & 6th generation can do split screen, because they have 2+ GB of RAM.
