Select an image in IBooks Author. In the Inspector : Metrics panel : File Info — there is a small icon next to the filename of the selected image. One can copy the image from iBooks Author by clicking on that icon, and drag/drop to the Desktop or preferred folder location.
None whatsoever. Entirely wrong document format to open in any version of Pages.
Essentially I will have to recreate and entire file in pages again.
Why? What are you trying to achieve in the end?

Thank you very much for this information. I have stopped trying to open this file in pages. Essentially I will have to recreate and entire file in pages again. Thank you for very helpful hint!

I created a book using iBooks app, about 200 pages long with photographs. Question was how do I migrate that book to pages without doing the tasks all over again especially pasting the photographs. I guess I will have to do all tasks again. Thanks for asking.
Why do you need to have your book in the Pages app? What will that let you do that you cannot do with it in the ibooks app?
Thank you for asking this question. I am new at iBooks app and I am using a pre existing template of photo book. I wanted to insert a Blank page after the Title page and a page for book dedication after the table of content in the template. However, it does not allow me to insert a page after title page or a page after table of content. Also, when I save in pdf format in iBooks App, it does not have photo on the Intro Media page. May be there is a way to insert pages, however I do not know at this point. I will search in help, however I did not see anything there. Thank you for your communication.
Have you also asked your questions about what can be done in iBA in the forum for that app?

You can export your iBooks Author document to pdf and .txt.
Best to export to txt.
The images will have to be extracted individually.
No, I have not asked in iBA forum.
Thank you for your help!
