My recently deleted photos album is missing
I think this disappeared in a recent update. How do I recover deleted photos; there is no longer an album for this in photos.
iPhone 7 Plus, 12

Check to make sure that you are looking at the "Albums" display (large word "Albums" at the top, smaller words "My Albums" and "See All" below).
If the top line reads "<Albums My Albums Edit" then you are in "My Albums"; click on "<Albums" to get back to the top "Albums" display, then scroll down past "My Albums", "Shared Albums", "People & Places", and "Media Types" to find "Other Albums". Under "Other Albums" should be "Imports", "Hidden" (if you have any hidden items), and "Recently Deleted" (also if you have any such items).

It's harder to find than before (at least it was for me). Open the Photos app, tap Albums at the bottom of the screen and then scroll all of the way to the bottom of the "Other Albums" section.
Here is a screenshot of what Mark is describing:
After tapping "Albums" at the bottom scroll directly down to the bottom of the list of albums. On no account tap the tempting red herring "See all" or you will have lost.
Then the recently Deleted album should be there, even if it is empty. Sometimes I am not seeing it at all, if it is empty, but usually it will be there.
But did you recently delete photos at all?
Hi, I just wanted to thank you for all your good help. Problem solved when I restarted my phone. It must have disappeared when I was almost out of storage. After restarting I found it in the new place that you get to with a link from text. In the old version I had an album icon as the last one in my albums.
really appreciate your interest, thanks!
I have used about 43 GB of 200 available,
Are the 43GB available in iCloud Photos or locally on your iPhone?
I know only two reasons why recently Deleted will not be shown:
And did you recently restart your iPhone, so the Photos.app will refresh its data?
i know that is where it used to be, but now it isn’t there anymore, but thanks.
Thank you for detailed answer. I’m a pretty avid photographer and have over 100 albums so I am accustomed to navigating the photos collection. I have carefully searched through all the options. I upped my storage because it was low and thought that might fix it but still no “recently deleted” photos.
Guess I need to go to Apple store?
Which version of iOS is running on your iPhone? And have you restarted the iPhone recently?
Did you delete any photos after you upgraded your Cloud Storage? As a test, take a new photo and delete it immediately. Does that bring the Recently Deleted album forward?
I have deleted a bunch since I installed 12.1.2 on my iPhone 7plus. I have used about 43 GB of 200 available, mostly all photos.
I just ran that test and nothing comes. I have so many albums I thought it might be buried there and have now carefully culled through it to no avail.
Just returned from trip to Bali and accidently cut a bunch of important pictures so I really want to find them.
Thanks so much for all the help.
