FYI for the future

Apple software/hardware teams and employees are not here.

Other than supoort community moderators and support staff, we are all just Apple product users here, just like you.

Many of us regular, volunteer community support contributors.

No one who posts here works for Apple.

I think you issues lay with CBS and CW app developers and not Apple.

Apple is not responsible for what happens to other third party apps developers and their apps when using Apple's operating system software.

Maybe you should try contacting the developers of the CBS and CW apps, instead.

Your iPad issues maybe a singular issue to you and your iPads.

We are not seeing any other reports about these specific apps and issues with the latest iOS here in these communities and there are no recent reviews of these two apps with users complaining they are not working under the latest iOS version.

I checked.

How much free data storage space is left on these problem iPads?

iDevice, especially iPads, need to maintain a constant 2-3 GBs of free internal data storage, at a minimum.

You may have to free up data storage space on your iPads.

Do you leave LOTS of apps running in the background app switcher?

You really should quit a good amount of background apps, if you do this.

I use an iPad Pro, as well, and find that keeping apps and active Website tabs to a reasonable minimum, makes my iPad Pro run so much smoother than when it loaded up with background apps and other active processes.

If Background App Refresh is still toggled ON in the Settings app, apps in the background are still working recieving data.

Do you leave lots a active Website tabs open in a Web browser?

Again, if Background App Refresh is still active in the Settings apps, the Web browser is still constantly updating its data in the background while not using the Web browser.

Toggle OFF Background App Refresh in the Settings apps.

Here are other optimisations I do to ALL of my iPads, even my iPad Pro.

Tap on the link below to my iDevice/iOS performance/optimisation user tips link.

Slow iPad on iOS 9, 10 or 11! - Apple Community

Try all of these tips and leave each tip active together. Do not simply try every tip individually, expecting just one tip to be a performance “cure all”.

Many of these tips are designed to work together to help improve overall iOS/iDevice performance.

If you need to free up free data storage space on an iPad/iDevice, you need to start by backing up your iPad to either Apple's iCloud or by connecting your iDevice to a computer running the latest iTunes or some other offsite, “cloud” data storage service, like Google Drive/Photos, DropBox, Box, etc.

Then delete any installed apps that you no longer use or use infrequently enough that they aren't missed (you can always reinstalled any purchased or free apps at some time later, as you need them).

Thin out/delete any music/videos/movies/TV shows/images/eBooks/eMagazine/iBooks/audio books/Documents/PDFs, etc.

If you use a POP email account on your iPad, delete/thin out any old saved emails that maybe saved to your iPad.

To permanently delete photos/images off of your iDevice go into the Photos app and find the Recently Deleted folder/album and permanently delete any photos/images stored in that folder/album.

Also, you can check to see what stuff is eating up all your valuable data storage space by going into the Settings App,,General Settings Panel, in the right hand column, tap Storage & iCloud usage panel ( in iOS 11, it’s iPad Storage ), in the top Storage Panel, tap the Manage Storage panel, wait for a list of apps to generate that will tell you how much space each app is taking up on your iDevice.

Then, do a hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons.

There are some ideas here that I will look into for sure. With a second Pro going flaky it can only be the apps (CBS bought CW I heard) or it still may be an update issue since it appeared at that time since 12.2.1. update. As I stated my iPad and Mini2 work fine and they all have the same iOS. But Apple is still needing to fix Wifi stability which has gone cattywhampus for the Pro’s. This is a known issue web-wide but not for all users. My iPhone uses LTE many times and is very stable and same iOS. The Mini is used only occasionally compared to the Pro’s. I have tried many things and rebooting does the best wherever I am, public or my private net. But I dislike having to forceboot several times a day.

So I bought a puppy to occupy some of the online time... ;)
