Battery question

My iPad works great, but I don't know if my battery is lasting as long as everyone is reporting. Should I be turning off the wifi or is everyone getting 10 or 11 hours with wifi turned on ? I read backlit screen does not make a big difference ?

I did a search and I read someone say they were watching movies and the battery was lasting forever. Mine seems to discharge at a faster rate but I have not timed it out totally , but it certainly is not giving me the length that everyone else is reporting. But I will do a test and take it from 100 to discharge and see how long it takes.

I appreciate any suggestions

Thanks

I think your mileage will vary depending on which apps you typically use. With the apps I use I tend to get about 8 hours of useful life. I recharge when it gets below 20% rather then running it to 0.

I never turn the iPad off as sleep mode drains very little of the battery. ie. I can charge to 100% in the evening, put it in sleep mode and in the morning it's still 100%.

Hope this helps.

I've got the wi-fi/3G iPad. I've never used the 3G, it's always turned off but my wi-fi is always on. I've kept track quite a bit and whether I'm watching Netflix movies or reading ebooks or browsing the web it always uses just barely under 10% an hour. I've got my screen brightness set 1/2 way and my mail auto checks every 15 minutes. I love the battery life on this thing. If I was on my iPad every second that I wasn't busy doing something else there's still not enough hours in the day to run the battery down-and I'm at home all day!
