Inappropriate GIFs in Messages

I’ve been searching and searching and can’t seem to find an answer. Is there any way to filter or restrict inappropriate/sexual GIFs in messages? We recently allowed my son to have a phone (his sister’s old SE) and he loves GIFs. Imagine our surprise to find that the content restrictions seemingly don’t apply to such content. How do we address this?

Dont think there’s a way to filter them. In many countries it is illegal to send them so you could educate him to delete and never forward or initiate them.

Also educating kids that such video fantasies are just that and not real life.

9 out of 10 kids will see the hardest of images so fore warned is fore armed.

Thanks Peter. We’ve done that, as he’s a young teen. It’s just frustrating to see what pops up at times when he’s trying to send something funny to his sister, who’s away at college. (They send cartoons to each other.) He reports them to us, and we talk about them, but the filter programming must be different through messages. We will continue to be vigilant. :)
