How do I turn off hyphenation in messages?

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! I can see from your message you’re currently seeing hyphenation in your Messages. If you have adjusted the text size on your phone to a larger one, you may see hyphenation in your conversations. If you go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Larger Text  and adjust the font size down you should see this change. Making changes in Settings > General > Keyboards for the Auto-Correction or Smart Punctuation will have no change to the hyphenation.

To be sure that we're on the same page, the new issue which you're seeing is where the conversation bubbles are not appearing in their entirety. If this is correct, follow the first 2 steps in this article: If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open - Apple Support. Be sure to test out Messages after the first one before proceeding to the next one. Let us know the results.
