Classic iPod problem
My classic iPod will not sync with iTunes.

What happens when you try? If there is content on the device that isn't in your library see Recover media from an iPod - Apple Community. If iTunes or Windows reports errors with the drive see Corrupt iPod Classic - Apple Community. Otherwise see Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using iTunes on your computer - Apple Support, select some content to sync, and sync it. Note that you cannot sync content from the Apple Music subscription service or that is currently in the cloud.
