update OS X Yosemity when it says no updates available
How can I update to a newer version? I've tried but it says no updates are available. I have backed up my computer.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which Mac model you have, download El Capitan, High Sierra, or Mojave from the Mac App Store.
