AirPods continue to play music while charging and ear detection is not working.

I noticed that when my AirPod falls out of my ear or if I remove them, the music continues to play until I pause it on my phone. Even when I take off my AirPods and put it in the charging case the music still plays through it. I went into my AirPod settings and yes automatic ear detection is on. I even tried turning the ear detection on and off but it still didn’t work. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Or if I were to take it to apple would they give me new ones or fix these ones?

Hi Caherine,

First, I would try cleaning your AirPods. I was having a similar issue and I found out that there was earwax covering the infrared sensors. If that doesn't do the trick, I would press forget the device in bluetooth settings, restart your iPhone, and then reconnect the AirPods.
