Mojave Photos will not allow me to rearrange the sequence of photos within events .

since updating to Mojave Photos will not allow me to rearrange the sequence of photos within events . When the sort option under 'View" is selected the options are greyed out. The only option within the greyed out area is ' Keep by date'. How do I change this. I want to be able to move any photo to any position within the collection.

Are you asking about the albums in the folder "iPhoto Events"? Or about the moments and collections?

The Moments and collections cannot be rearranged. They are having a fixed sort order. And none of the predefined albums/views can be rearranged. The grayed out option "Sort > Keep sorted by ..." is just meant to show you what the fixed sorting is.

You can only sort albums that you create yourself.

If a standard album you created yourself cannot be sorted, the library may be corrupted and need repairing.
