Hi,

can you plz confirm if I can use usb drive or external hard drive to connect with ipad 6th generation and audio and vedio will work?

both yes and no


There are some wifi enabled hard drives you can use to connect to your ipad. However you do have to use the app that comes with the drive.


There are some flash drive type devices that can plug into iPads and be used to transfer data, they also require a companion app.


Your average USB drive off the shelf? No. Unless that drive is made to be used with iDevices and has a companion app it will not work since iPads have no file manager to support the data transfer.


Can you stream from a specialty drive? Maybe, depends on whether or not the app supports it, and whether or not your file has that ability locked out. (many downloaded media files have digital rights management on them that prohibits the files from being played from certain sources)


So the answer is a maybe. Depends on the drive you purchase and the files you are using
