Credo my cell provider does not support Apple Watch if I get the Apple Watch series 4 will the fall detection and call to 911 work with no cellular coverage

I truly appreciate your help and explanation:) I think the watch will serve my needs even with out the cellular coverage:) Hard to believe, but in the long run, it’s cheaper than the monthly charge by the standard medical alert companies plus has the very useful addition of the heart monitoring:)

But in reading the linked info it still seems to be iffy...compatible WiFi requirements appear to be limiting and not a sure thing....my purpose for buying the watch is to have a dependable medical alert device. My very first Kindle reader was not connected to a network but somehow a ? whisper cloud ? Transferred books to it. I was hoping that was how GPS would work on the Apple Watch, call 911 if I was unable to respond after a fall and send help...I don’t know magic I guess. The watch is too expensive to take a chance on. Thanks again for your help:)
