I watch 4 battery life

I am debating 44 vs 40 cellular. The 40 is much more comfortable on my wrist but I have concerns with the battery difference. Is the difference significant ?

I can’t offer a direct comparison, but some comments might help.

  • The smaller watch has a smaller case so probably a smaller battery, but it also has a smaller screen so power drain will be reduced.
  • Apple has the same target 18 hours with their standard test conditions for all versions.
  • Despite the test condition battery life being 18 hours I usually see about 60-70% remaining after more like 20 hours in my typical usage, mainly receiving messages and emails with a few calls. Several other users have also commented they can usually get 2 days without much effort. Whether this holds up for you depends on how you expect the watch will be used.
  • It is likely you will see more day to day variation in real world battery usage than you would see difference between the watch sizes.

On balance I would not expect the battery difference between 40mm and 44mm will be significant. My advice is to compare the two versions and decide based on how the size of watch works for you, and which looks most comfortable on your arm. Get down to a store where you can compare side by side, and don’t worry about battery because it will be “adequate”.
