Why is this in my Network location proxy settings ? Exceptions List: *.local, 169.254/16 FTP Passive Mode:Yes

I googled the address and collected info from the network “whois” settings . This is what came up " % for more information on IANA, visit http://www.iana.org. “ It turns out that I’m not the only one. Where did that come from? It’s my understanding that there shouldn’t be any thing in my proxy settings unless elected to do so which I did not .

I am having problems with a network connection only on my mac.. .not any other devices. I had an error code 1007D when I did NW diagnostics. I couldn’t find that error code info. Could this have anything to do with it? I’ve never seen this before.

I went through my wifi list and deleted it in all of my connections. I called apple and did a recovery and it’s still there : {

That's because the exceptions list is normal. Those addresses are under "Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains", correct? They are present because they correspond to addresses confined to your local network, for which using a proxy server would not be appropriate.

Where are you encountering that? If you are experiencing connection troubles that would lead you to running Wireless Diagnostics, explain.

FYI this is its ideal outcome:
