Can't insert QuickTime movie into 64-bit PowerPoint 2010

I am running the 64-bit version of Office 2010 on Windows 7.
One of the new features of PowerPoint 2010 is the ability to embed videos.
I shot some short movies with my iPhone 3GS to test this out.
I had no trouble transferring this movies to my Dell notebook via the USB cable. (I am not running iTunes on this notebook.)
I can get these movies to play with either QuickTime 7.6.6 or with Windows Media Player, so I know the movies work as do these players.
But when I try to insert one of these QuickTime movies into PowerPoint, I get this error message:
"PowerPoint cannot insert a video from the selected file. Verify that the necessary 64-bit codec for this media format is installed, and then try again."
When I click on help it tells me,
"With PowerPoint 2010, when you have the QuickTime player installed on your computer, you can insert an Apple QuickTime movie (.mov, .mp4) file. The PowerPoint 2010 64-bit version is not compatible with 32-bit versions of QuickTime or Flash. You must install a 64-bit version of QuickTime or Flash, or a 32-bit version of PowerPoint 2010."

So... is there a 64-bit version of QuickTime?
Or is there a 64-bit codec I can download?
Or is there a way of converting a .MOV into something that will run on a 64-bit version of PowerPoint 2010?

(And yes, I did try uninstalling and reinstalling QuickTime.)
