I listen to podcasts on both my iPhone and my Mac. How do I get them to sync so that they reflect each other, both deleting the already-played podcasts after 24 hours?

I listen to podcasts on both my iPhone and my Mac. How do I get them to sync so that they reflect each other, both deleting the already-played podcasts after 24 hours? If that's not possible, how do I - just once - set the computer podcast library to override the phone podcast library?

My settings reflect these. On the phone. I don't see where to set them on the computer. Theoretically - I think - the two ought to mirror each other. Instead, on the phone I have 6 episodes of a podcast remaining, the computer shows 12; the phone has 2 episodes remaining on another podcast while the computer shows 15. It's quite maddening. I keep deleting the same podcast episodes over and over.
