Macbookpro 2011 with Yosemite wanting to upgrade to a newer version (Seirra or High Sierra) any idea how?

I have Macbookpro 2011 with Yosemite wanting to upgrade to a newer version (Seirra or High Sierra) But having a hard time finding the OS to upgrade to Sierras. My App Store is not showing me the newer OS. Any tips or ideas how to do this?

Thanks!

Your model supports up to 10.13.6 - High Sierra. I would suggest stopping at Sierra because it is less buggy than High Sierra.

How to upgrade to macOS Sierra

Before upgrading consider:

  1. Don't upgrade if you are in the midst of important work. Wait until you have finished.
  2. If you are having problems with your computer get them sorted out before you upgrade.
  3. Verify that any mission critical software will be compatible with the upgrade - See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
  4. Learn how to upgrade to the latest macOS.
