how do I turn off find my iPhone? we purchase3d a new device for our daughter and before I turn the old one in I need to turn off find my iPhone but it's grayed out.

Have you tried signing out of iCloud? Do you have parental controls turned on? Have you tried going to iCloud.com and signing removing the device from your list of devices?
