Freezing rows and columns in numbers

I want to freeze rows and columns in numbers....not the headers but the entire row and column like you can in excel. Can this be done in numbers?

You can "freeze" up to five Header Rows at the top and I think four Header Columns on the left. This freezes the entires rows/or entire columns.

As Numbers is designed around smaller, single purpose tables on a canvas rather than one big grid of cells as in Excel, there is little need to split or freeze panes.
