I would like to control the music playing from my iPad with my Apple Watch. The now playing app can’t find or sync with my iPad. The remote app only controls computers. Can anyone help me connect my watch and IPad so that I can control the music playing from an iPad on my wrist?

Yes iPhone & iPad both runs iOS, but you don't have an Watch app on iPad do you?
Internally there's a distinction between the two, the obvious part is the user interface.
The Watch is sold and sync only with an iPhone right from the start.
Why? That doesn’t make much sense since both are running on iOS.
Watch connects to your iPhone not iPad.
