My MacBook Pro "System" take up space more than 550gb

I found that the core folder take up the space around 493gb. What can I do to clean up the core folder?

If you want to see how much space is taken on the mac, do NOT use "About this Mac": this is mostly way off.

In 10.14 you should not and can not do anything in the system folders.

Open a finder window, select the startup disk, on the right side bottom you see how much total space is taken.

Then open the Home folder (yourname) on the left, and see what you use of the total..
