My apple watch wont turn on

My apple watch series 2 has not been turning on for 24 hours now, once i put it on charge it turned on but when i took it off it turned off. I am worried it has water damage. i have tried reseting it and holding the crown and power button for 15 seconds or till the apple symbol comes up but nothing is working. It also started to over heat aloth when on the charger, it was boiling i could barely hold it. What is wrong? Should i book and appointment at the apple store?
