Anyone connect a Targus (AMP13US) to their new Macbook (USBC only)

I have a Mac with only USB-C connections and trying to connect a USB Targus remote presenter. I tried all the troubleshooting, and even contacted Targus who say they can only provide support if it is connected directly via USB, which of course I have to do through a hub/dongle.

Anyhow figure out a work around?
