Photo sidebar not showing Photos

Photos tab in sidebar shows up empty. Garage Band, iTubes and Sound Effects tabs work. Photos is set as system library (it's the only photo app installed), brand new iMacPro. I've tried re-starting apps and computer several times.

photos do not appear in iMovie I am running Ventura 13.3 and iMovie 10.3.5. when I open iMovie I can click in the right spots to see "transitions," "backgrounds," ''titles" and "audio and video." When I click on "My Media" and "Photos Library" I get nothing, a blank screen where all my photos should appear. My photos are all in the photos app. They are apparently jpeg, but they do not have .jpeg in the titles. How can I get my photos to show up in "Photos Library?" I also get a notice every few minutes that tells me "Do you want to update your projects and events on the hard drive “Macintosh HD - Data”? I have updated several times, but the notice keeps appearing. What do I do?

Photos app and some of the apps are crossed and grey out After upgrading my iMac (Retina 5k, 27-inch, Late 2014) from High Sierra yesterday (the upgrade was not smooth what so ever; the background of this Big Sur still stuck on the High Sierra big mountain background), Photos app and some of the apps are crossed and grey out, could not be used. I could not check on the Photos Apple ID over the System Preference even though it was listed there. Please help with thanks in advance.

System Photo Library grayed out? On my Mac the photos library location is "show in finder" and my system photo library is grayed out. Is this why I cannot upload recent pics while using another app? When I try to change a photo or upload a photo in an app it takes me to some folders under pictures. How do I correct?

Nevermind, figured it out. The issue was Privacy Settings for Photos (in Mojave System Preferences)
