I am trying to send a song from my library via text but it will only show my most recently played songs as an option to send. How do I pick a specific song and send it?

I see that you're trying to send a specific song to someone using the Messages application and your Apple Music subscription. The problem is, it's only allowing you to send something that's been recently played, and I'm happy to help.
Use iMessage apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch -- Since you can only send songs that have been recently played, open the Music application and play the song you'd like to send. When you return to the Messages application, the song should be in the list.
