Apple has never supported writing to an NTFS drive. You need to install third party software for that. Such as Tuxera NTFS or Paragon NTFS for Mac.

Seagate as an example have in the past included a free limited version of the Paragon NTFS software for Mac.
Apple have only ever provided read-only access to NTFS disks.
If you really want full NTFS support then buy either Tuxera or Paragon NTFS.
If you merely need a drive that can be used to transfer files between Mac and Windows then either format the drive as FAT or exFAT.
Update your third party software and you can r/w again.
As stated, they have NEVER supported writing to NTFS, therefore they can't support it "again".

Personally, I think a far better solution to the problem of transferring files between Mac and Windows is to move them over the network rather then using a disk drive formatted as FAT or exFAT. I have never had any disk drive formatted as anything but HFS+.
Why do you need to have disk drive formatted as NTFS?
What useful purposes does that serve for you?
