Logitech headsets will work fine.

And Samson mics are nice too. For web and VOIP calls on my 2018 Mac mini, I have a Samson Go Mic attached to the top edge of one of my monitors with double sided Velcro tape (http://www.samsontech.com/samson/products/microphones/usb-microphones/gomic/) and it works great. I also have a Samson Meteor Mic but that is larger than I wanted sitting on my desk at home. The Go Mic is about $30-$40 on Amazon, and even the meteor Mic is in the $50-$60 dollar range. The Go Mic can be used in cardiod (only the front grill) or surround mode, while the Meteor Mic is cardiod only. In cardiod mode people can hear me just fine even if I’m up to 8-10 ft away from the mic.

As mentioned the Mac mini does not have a built-in microphone.

If your use is going to be for dictating text then typically people use a USB headset with a microphone in the headset, this better filters out background noise improving the accuracy of the voice recognition.

If you want instead to use Siri to control the Mac and the new Home app etc. then a standard microphone such as built-in to a webcam is the better option.

For what its worth the most highly regarded microphone for multi-person use e.g. podcast recording or Skype is the Yeti USB microphone. See - https://www.bluedesigns.com/products/yeti/

Lots of good choices in Illaass' link, but I can vouch for the Yeti from personal experience. For the price, you get a microphone with the response of professional recording mics costing much, much more. Built like a tank, too.

I bought mine as a bundle on Amazon. Comes with a vibration isolating swing arm and pop screen. You release the mic from its desktop stand via the two large thumb screws shown in the image, then mount it to the arm.
