How do I get mail to connect to my outlook email account?

I am trying to get Mail to access my Outlook email account and it just keeps telling me it isn't the correct password. I know the password is correct since my iPhones access it with the same password.

MacBook Pro 15", 10.13

Hi

I had that problem to.

Finally I had enough of it and

1- Just deleted my Outlook account in Mac mail (knowing it is still all there in Outlook on the web).

2- Added it new again

it worked.

PS I still do not know what it was and why would it not accept my password.

Similar problem:

iMac 10.13. Mail app with Outlook.com account setup as an Exchange account.
Got an error when signing in, and circumvented it initially by adding http://outlook.com as Incoming and Outgoing server instead of the default Exchange server URLs. This worked until I opened Mail on my Macbook. Since, on both Mac, the Outlook.com account exists but is inactive.
I tried to remove the account altogether, and re-entering it (still with the sign in problem mentioned above ), and it seems that for a second or two the account is added, but immediately turns itself off and becomes inactive!

Any ideas?
