How to Boot a Mac from a Live CD?

I have Mepis Linux, and I want to boot from it. I use a USB SuperDrive with this Mac. So, how do I boot from it?

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you would like to start your MacBook Pro from a disc in an Apple USB SuperDrive. To use a different startup disk when starting up your MacBook Pro, hold the Option key while pressing the power button to startup to the Startup Manager.
