Is it possible to password protect the signatures you save in Preview's signature tool?
I love being able to add my signature to a PDF, but I'd prefer there be some authentication process before I do.

No. Only the PDF that you add the signatures too.
The signatures are not stored in separate files, or as meaningful, non-numerical, data within your filesystem. Access to your signature would only occur when someone already has access to your user account, and the Preview application opened within that specific account. Although signatures are annotations, once they are applied to a PDF, they become immutable by anyone.
I suppose so. I guess I'd just like to see something so important as a signature be given a little more security. My password manager requires a master password every time it's been idle for more than X minutes. Seems like signatures deserve just as much protection. But I guess that's not the way Apple sees it.
Figured as much. Apple is so keen on security. I wonder why they allow this fantastic feature to be so wildly, irresponsibly insecure.
