Why is there another computer name in System Preferences>Sharing?
I use El Capitan. Why is there another computer name listed in the "Computer Name:" of my Sharing folder? Enclosed please see name "El's Mac Pro," which is not the name of my Mac.

When you set your Mac up for the first time the Mac names itself from your first name when you set the Mac up.
From the Sharing window above you can change the Computer Name to anything you want.
If you open Finder> Preferences> Sidebar under Devices you should be able to select the computer as well as Hard Disks, External Disks and CDs, DVDs etc. Once selected these will show in Finder windows sidebars and the computer name will be the one you chose in Sharing preferences pane.
Is there somewhere else that you are seeing a different name for your computer? If you enable the computer in the Finder Sidebar, does it have a different name?
Thanks alot, Eau Rouge and Eric Root, for your kind assistance!!
You are welcome.
