Referencing a different slide in Keynote in a table formula
Just found the secret trick for inserting a formula reference to a table on ANOTHER slide in Keynote. After years of frustration, discovering this feature has made my life considerably easier!
Let us assume you have Slide 9 with 1 table and Slide 10, which contains three tables entitled (say) Model1, Model2 and Model3.
Then you create another slide (say Slide 15) which has a single table into which you wish to consolidate date from all four tables on both the other slides (Slide 9 and Slide 10) which contain the tables to be referenced by the formula you are creating.
Step 1, click into the first cell in the table on Slide 15, into which you wish to insert a formula referencing say, Cell B11 of the table named Model2 which is on Slide 10,
Step 2, type "=" to start creating a formula in the cell in the normal manner.
Step 3, type "Slide" in the formula entry box which appears. Once you have typed 'Slide' a list of every table on every slide with tables appears directly under the formula entry box, starting with the first table on the first slide which has a table.
Step 4, use the right and left arrows on the keyboard to scroll forward and backward through the list of available tables until you reach the table to which you wish to insert the reference (in this case Slide
Step 5: hit return.
Step 6: type "B11".
That's it. The contents of Slide 10, Model2 will appear in the cell of the table you are editing on Slide 15.
