cannot deleate photos after import from camera

There used to be a little check box if one wanted to delete the photos from source after import. It has been missing lately. Any suggestion?

Thank you all for the helpful answers. As it turned out the slide on the memory card moved. Put it back up and everything is just fine! Thank you all!

Don't. It is a much better practice to make sure that the import worked correctly - even if you just double click on a few images to make sure they show up full size - before deleting off the camera. Too many times, the import goes bad and the images are also gone from the camera.

It is also good practice to erase the images by re-formatting the card in the camera.

Hello Manfred42.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

If I'm understanding correctly, when importing photos, you do not see an option to delete from camera after importing. I will be glad to assist.

Do you have another camera or device to test this? Please see the information below from the following resource:

Import photos from a camera or phone using Photos on Mac

"If you want to delete photos from the camera after importing them, select the “Delete items” checkbox.
This option does not appear for all cameras."

Cheers.
