Want to transfer GarageBand file created on MacBook to iPad

I’ve created some files on the MacBook and want to transfer them to my iPad so that I can take on holiday and add some more content and edit them. The intention being to return them to the MacBook once back home.

ive tried Shrae/project to GarageBand for IOS and saved to my home cloud. The file had saved on my home cloud but GarageBand can’t do anything with it.

thnaks for any help you can give me.

Sharing to "GarageBand iOS" is explained here: https://help.apple.com/garageband/mac/10.3/#/gbnd4d2baaf3

The project appears in the My Songs browser of on your iOS device, as a new song with a single track containing a mix of the entire GarageBand project. You can add, edit, and arrange new tracks in GarageBand for iOS, then share the updated song back to iCloud. When you reopen the project in GarageBand, the new tracks are added to the original project.
