iphone 7 message "no audio device found"

My iPhone microphone has stopped working. I get the no audio device found error message. I've upgraded the iOS, tested the microphone and done a reboot, all without luck. I'm afraid something has gone wrong with internal microphone, but want to see if there are other suggestions. Naturally, the phone was just paid off a month ago. :(
