Firmware password isn't recognized

I just set a firmware password and when I try to boot in recovery mode, it doesn't recognize the password although I'm 100% sure I put in the right one.

Is there a way the password field doesn't accept/recognize numbers or capital letters?

I found it. My keyboard layout was changed to English so some characters didn't input correctly. Everything's fixed now!

The firmware password is case-sensitive, if that’s what you’re asking.

If your keyboard might not be working, try a different external keyboard on this Mac, and/or try this keyboard (if it’s external) on another computer to confirm that it’s working.

There’s a firmware password reset sequence around, if you’re stuck. Search for that and you should find it.
