so i downloaded Maccleaner.pkg 

What you do is delete this meretricious piece of junk and go on with your life. This app, and all the similar ones, exists solely to separate the unwary from their hard-earned cash. Never install any app that claims to 'clean', 'tune up' or 'optimise' your Mac. They are all junk.

This is real junk software.

Open Maccleaner, on the left you see "uninstaller", select that, then choose maccleaner itself and it will uninstall it.

After that restart.
