No apple logo, chimes or recovery mode.

I have Mac os and windows 10 installed( bootcamp). I recently installed phoenix os through the windows os.

Now the Mac mini boots directly to phoenix os. No grub menu and no windows or Mac os options. No logo, chimes, recovery mode. Only phoenix.

Is there a way to access recovery mode or my Mac os? Or boot from an USB or change the boot order....I tried all possible key strokes combinations.

I am using an apple wireless keyboard btw.

Thanks in advance

Okay, crunch time. Here's what you CAN do.

If you have another Mac and if you are willing to take the hard drive out of the MacMini, and if you can connect it the the aforementioned Mac, you can install macOS on it.

The steps:

• Decide if you want to do this, this is an advanced procedure

• Make sure you have access to another Mac (needs to be running at least Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion

• Remove the hard drive from you MacMini using this iFixit article. This works for late 2014 MacMinis

• Connect the hard drive to the Mac. See here for info on how to do this.

• Format the hard drive as Mac OS Journaled

• Download the latest macOS installer from the App Store

• Select the MacMini hard drive as the destination for macOS install

• Then you will need to reinstall the hard drive by following the steps in the iFixit article backwards

• Then you MacMini should boot up to a clean install of macOS

P.S. If something goes wrong, please don't hold me accountable, this is an advanced procedure. Feel free to wait for other answers before attempting this.

Okay, I think you need to reinstall macOS, this will be tricky since you say you cannot boot into Recovery Mode.

BEFORE TRYING ANYTHING please note that performing this procedure will erase all data on your Mac unless you have Time Machine backups.

If you have another mac you can follow these instructions to make a bootable installer, then you will have to find out how to change the startup disk in phoenix and boot from the bootable installer. PLEASE NOTE that this is a last-ditch operation and I would wait and see if anyone else comes up with anything before trying this.

Good Luck,

I don't know how old your computer is, but you can try Internet Recovery to see if that works. Try booting into Internet Recovery (command - option/alt - R on a restart). It is a slow process. This will install the newest OS that the computer is compatible with. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button and select GUID. Quit Disk Utility. Then install the OS. When the computer restarts, you can use Setup Assistant to restore your data from Time Machine.

Something to try. Restart the computer holding down the command - option/alt - P - R keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold until you hear the startup chime for the second time. You may need to do this 2-3 times.

Reset NVRAM/PRAM

Try a SMC reset. The article covers when this is required, but doing this will not affect anything.
