imessage reminder

Is there any function that serves as a follow up or reminder for read imessages? I generally have time to check messages but not time for a thoughtful response. But once they're marked as read, I tend to forget about them. Is there anyway to have them come back later or be marked as unread once I've opened them?

There is no function in Messages for that. You could set a reminder for yourself. I'd use Siri. It's quite quick. Also, If you look at the texts in the Notifications screen, but don't act on them, they won't be marked as read. You could also proactively block out some time on your calendar every day (with a reminder) for answering texts and emails.

In my opinion, pretty much no one expects thoughtful, carefully crafted responses to text messages. They are designed to be short and efficient. Most people are more interested in a rapid response than anything else. So, my non-technological suggestion is to respond to the text when you read it and not worry too much about it being perfect.
