my backup disk is saying full, i thought it would delete my oldest to make room

Gulp, not sure I've seen a fix for this without reformatting the drive & starting over.
But if you want to try to fix it & haven't emptied the trash yet...
Turn off Time Machine, try Putting back the files you trashed, then enable TM again and...

How did you delete the files? Hopefully you used Time Machine & not the Finder or Terminal.

I didnt delete my latest one when I deleted all of the other ones?
Well, I don't have much hope of avoiding erasing the drive, but quit TM & try putting that one back then using TM to trash it.

Then you have to erase the drive and start over.
Are you using Time Machine or a different backup app, i.e. something from Seagate?
Were you able to delete the files you moved from the Seagate too the Trash. If you were using Time Machine you would not be able to empty the Trash. That would require an erase of the drive and start over with Time Machine.
