How to disable split view for good?

MacOS / Mojave / 10.14.3

I just want to disable split view for good. The feature feels schizophrenic, brings extreme discomfort and frustration to the flow. It is a constant waste of time to manually exit split view. Is there a way I can disable the feature in System Preferences?

Perhaps you can explain your need to disable the feature. Invoking Split View needs overt action on your part. Is it occurring unexpectedly? If so something else is wrong.

At your option, you can de-select "Displays have separate Spaces" in (Apple menu) > System Preferences > Mission Control. That does not disable Split View, which is not possible, but it will prevent inadvertent activation of it. Perhaps that workaround will suffice for your needs.

If you are using additional displays, it won't be a satisfactory workaround.

Otherwise, additional information is needed.

@dialabrain Split View launches automatically without my involvement or request. I would like to disable this feature "For Good", not manually. I have absolutely NO need for it. Split View automatically applies to full-screen mode.

@john Glad. System preferences > Mission Control > De-select "Displays have separate Spaces" does not work.

What information is needed?

You have to log out and log in again for the setting to take effect. Did you do that. When you do, be sure to de-select "Reopen windows when logging back in".

Another question. If Split View is occurring spontaneously, on its own, with no action on your part, then something else is wrong. Perhaps you are not actually invoking Split View and you are experiencing something else. Or, I'm just misunderstanding your question. The latter is more likely.

Your reply does not resolve my issue. I would like to NOT have to exit Split View manually, unlike your link suggest to do every single time. I do not need Split View, I do not want Split View, I do not like Split View. I have no use-case for this feature whatsoever. I would like to disable Split View for good. Do you know of a way to disable it in System Preferences? Thank you.
