How to export a LIST of the songs/artists in your library that you can actually use

Windows/Excel method. Probably works with Mac/Numbers the same way. Someone try it and comment.

The Library>Export Playlist (not Export Library) feature sends a tab-delimited file to a .txt file that can be opened in Excel, then you can organize format print, etc.

1) Create a new playlist while in 'songs' view. You can filter and then sort by one column if you like

2) Select all songs and drag to the new playlist. Highlight that playlist

3) File> Library>Export Playlist. My default file was to save as .txt, if not, designate.

4) Launch Excel then use File>Open feature (default shows only .xlsx files, switch to .txt or all) It should ask you questions about how to import, to which I answered yes.

5) Viola. Manipulate as desired.

See also ExportCSV for a script you can customise to export a CSV spreadsheet that includes the specific data that you want.
