Stuck on "Activation Lock" screen!

My iphone 6 (iOS9) has got stuck on "Activation Lock" screen and not accepting my Apple ID and Password. However, I have checked the same Apple ID and Password to open my Apple account on my computer, it's working.

I have even changed my Password using my Apple account and tried again to sign in with my Apple Id and new Password on the "Activation Lock" screen of my iphone. But I keep on getting the same message "Incorrect Apple ID or Password".

If somebody knows how to fix this problem, please tell me.

I say again that you bought a used iPhone and it wasn't properly set up for resale.

No, I didn't put in a closet for 3 years. However, I didn't use it for almost for half a year after I bought it from a vendor in New York city. But even at that time, I agree it was not a newly launched version - rather an old version piece left at that store .

Well, if you claim that. Could you please tell me how could I verify your claim?

I have been using it for almost four and a half year - it's been working perfectly since then. It's the first time, it got stuck on the that Apple ID/ Password issue.
