Apple white remote control compatible with new Macbook Pro ?

I have an apple white remote control from iMac, probably 2009. Is it compatible with Macbook pro new generations ?

MacBook Pro 13”, macOS 10.14

No. There is no hardware for this to work any longer.

No. Newer models of Mac do not have Infrared capability to allow the use of the old white remote.

you should use the Magic Mouse 2, it much more reliable and keeps a constant connection.
