Old iPad (iOS 9.3.5) now has Netflix running

So there are LOADS of threads - mostly closed - on this one. I have just spent hours deinstalling iTunes, reinstalling etc etc etc etc as the “simple” answers on line (just try and install Netflix and it will ask you if you would like an old one) didn’t work.


For all manner of reasons I have multiple AppleIDs and chose to switch - actually to see if I had purchased an old version with one and that made any difference. So I am not sure if I had but when I switched to the Australia store it made this offer and successfully installed a 9.3.5 compatible version of Netflix app. COULD be just that the store holds old versions ?? Or maybe that I have purchased an old version o=via that AppleID




Thoughts??

If you need older versions of apps that have moved on to iOS 10 and later, tap on my link below and choose the method that best works with your current situation.

CAREFULLY read and follow ALL directions. Especially so for my computer/older iTunes procedures.

A Disclaimer.

Apps may or may not have older iOS 9.3.5 versions still available from within the iOS App Store.


The Netflix app has versions in the iOS App Store that go all the way back to iOS 5.1.1.


There are three ways to try/attempt to get an older version of an app. Pick the method that works best for your situation/circumstances.


Also, I would STOP using that nearly 3-year old Safari web browser, as it is, probably, not safe and secure to use any longer, and seek out a third party web browser that is STILL currently being updated and STILL being supported on iOS 9.3.5.

Heed my advice on this issue in my above link.

Such a shame that your level of knowledge goes with your conceited attitude. I am not wrong - my observations are absolutely true. In fact it was your solution that I followed. Tried all different options that you call out but wanted to add my findings as your solution didn’t work for me UNTIL I switched appleid !! The original ID was for the singapore store and your solutions didn’t work. No combination ever got me to the point where the App Store offered me an older version!!! When I switched to an Australian store ID - I was given this choice immediately. So these are the FACTS! My post then includes conjecture as to why. Could it be that the Aussie store holds old versions and the Singapore store does not or could it be that I had not previously purchased the old version via the singapore ID but had done so via the Aussie one.


Do try and be a little less full of yourself and accept that folks have different setups, locations and results and yours, whilst they may work for many - and certainly helped me, are incomplete. And perhaps my correct observations may assist others

I would assume that the IOS App Store server farms are all similarly configured with all of the same third party app access as the iOS App Store servers across all other countries, with the exception of certain types of apps that have been, purposely, banned from country to country.

Is Netflix banned in Singapore?

No clue.

Netflix the app is available. It was there to install (latest version) but I was not offered a previous version of the app when logged in to the Singapore app - but instead was just told that the version was incompatible. Netflix DOES have different programming in different regions (due to licensing etc) but no different from the old DVD region type thinking
