Screen time not adding up correctly

For some reason screen time is not accurately reporting screen time usage on my daughters iPad. It works correctly for the rest of the family on their iPads.

We have not been able to use the limit features at all as her totals are always incorrect. Sometimes the category total is correct but the overall use total is wrong...or it’s opposite and the overall use will be correct but the category count isn’t. It really is strange. See screenshots attached. In one shot the overall total daily use is correct but the categories don’t add up to this use because for some reason it “grayed” out/didn’t categorize as game when ROBLOX (game) was being used part of the time (in the morning) but did register it’s use (as a game) later in the morning correctly. In the other screen shot it counted all the game use correctly in the category count but didn’t include it in the overall daily total....despite the fact it was played in the morning between 6am and 10am.

Thanks for any help.

Hello abigael224,

Thanks for reach out to the Apple Support Communities. I can see from your message that your daughter’s iPad is not reporting consistently from Screen Time. Let’s begin by disabling Screen Time from her iPad, once disabled, restart the iPad with the following steps: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. After restarting, enable Screen Time again, and test it out.

If you find that it is still not reporting correctly, create a backup of the iPad. If you haven’t done so before, here’s how: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Once backed up, check for any iOS updates. If you find the iOS is up to date, follow the steps under, "Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again," from this article to reinstall the iOS: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Cheers!
