Lightening to USB female to upload pictures to iPad - Can I do it and how?

I would like to put in photos to my iPad from my camera’s SD Card. I see a few Lightening to USB female to which I can add a card reader, but have read that there are issues. Does Apple have an easy way to do this?

You can try this article : Import photos using Apple camera adapters - Apple Support

Alternatively, you could transfer the photos from the card to your Mac, and then to your iPad.
